In the late 1990s, Manuel Garrote and Rosalía Molina - his wife and the project's oenologist - began to buy plots of land in Landete, in the province of Cuenca, an intermediate point between three provinces: Valencia, Cuenca and Teruel. They were looking for a place where the conditions for the vineyard were special, especially considering the climate change, so they decided to settle in Landete, at an altitude of 1,080 metres above sea level
