Beefeater is a gin known to all. In 1820, the Chelsea distillery opened under the control of the Taylor family, and its first establishment would eventually become the first Beefeater headquarters. In 1835, Jams Burrouht, the founder of Beefeater, was born. After studying pharmacy in Canada, he returned to London in 1863 and bought the Chelsea distillery for just £400. From then on, he began to produce liqueurs, punches and fruit gins. In 1876 he began to produce many different brands of gin, including Beefeater. It is this brand that becomes a success and becomes the distillery's flagship brand.
