The Balvenie Doublewood is a 12 year old malt whisky that gains its distinctive character from being matured in two types of wood. During the maturation period it is transferred from a traditional oak whiskey cask to a first filled European oak sherry sherry cask. Each stage lends different qualities to the resulting malt ~ the traditional casks soften and add personality, while the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavor.
