Yuzu is a citrus fruit and plant native to southern Japan. It is believed to be a hybrid of sour mandarin and Ichang papeda. Yuzu fruits, which are very aromatic, usually range from 5.5 to 7.5 cm in diameter.
Yuzu bitters are purchased directly from farmers in Tokushima prefecture, where it is known as the yuzu production district.
