Premium Mexican rum and 12 year old artisan rum. The story goes that in the 18th century Spanish ships going to America carried barrels full of sweet wine and instead of bringing them back to Spain empty, they filled them with Mexican rum. During the voyage the rum absorbed the aromatic characteristics of the barrels, resulting in an excellent rum.
This rum was a great success in Spain and the national producers complained to the then King Philip V of Bourbon who was forced to ban the production of this rum in the New World. It is known as Habanero because the last stop the ship made on its way to Spain was in Havana, where it was not allowed to continue.
A clean, amber and sweet rum, with a predominance of dried fruits, sultanas and plums. Espresso, pure chocolate, black pepper and cinnamon.
