At the end of the 1990s, Manuel Garrote and Rosalía Molina - his wife and the project's oenologist - started to buy plots of land in Landete, in the province of Cuenca, an intermediate point between three provinces: Valencia, Cuenca and Teruel. They were looking for a place where the conditions for the vineyard were special, especially taking into account the climate change, so they decided to settle in Landete, at an altitude of 1,080 metres above sea level.
