Only 10% of this year’s production was used to make Le Petit Cheval (none was produced in 2022). It has a fresh, minty aroma with intense Cabernet flavours. On the palate, it is juicy with a hint of liquorice and smoky oak. The blend is a consistent 50/50 mix of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, aged in one-year-old Cheval Blanc barrels. Smooth, creamy, mineral and quite briny, with lovely crisp fruit and rounded tannins, it is an approachable wine with a lingering freshness on the finish.
