Go on a journey into history and sensory with The Macallan Red Collection 50 years, a whiskey that shows in every part of the production process a deep respect for the passage of time.
This single malt is a tribute to the distinctive red color, whose history begins with Alexander Reid, who founded The Macallan in 1824. His surname literally means “the red” in Scottish. In 1903, Roderick Kemp, who would become the owner at the time, launched The Macallan Choice Old range, which was shipped in boxes with a distinctive red label. And Allan Shiach, in the 1980s, used red ribbons to mark older bottles of The Macallan, turning them into a distinctive stamp indicating their age and value.
Now, Kirsteen Campbel, Master Whisky Maker, presents The Macallan Red Collection 50 years, an exceptional single malt whisky aged for five decades. Taste the dried fruits, spices, dates, dark chocolate and sultanas, while the aroma of oak, leather and floral notes and cocoa, immerse you in the essence of Macallan.
