Krug Vintage 1998 is one of Maison Krug’s most iconic prestige Champagnes, crafted exclusively from grapes of the exceptional 1998 harvest. Known as "Hommage au Chardonnay," this blend is distinguished by the prominence of Chardonnay—which imparts extraordinary purity, precision, and elegance—complemented by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The wine aged on its lees for over ten years in the House's cellars, developing exceptional complexity and depth.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance:
Deep gold color with amber highlights. Extremely fine, abundant, and persistent bubbles forming an elegant crown.
Nose:
Higly complex and expressive. Aromas of freshly baked brioche, butter, toasted hazelnuts, and almonds stand out, accompanied by honey, candied orange peel, dried apricot, and ripe stone fruits. As it opens up, notes of cocoa, mild coffee, sweet spices, white truffle, and a delicate mineral undertone emerge.
Palate:
Broad, silky entry with a perfectly integrated, creamy mousse. It displays magnificent tension between volume and freshness, revealing flavors of candied citrus, ripe fruit, toasted nuts, and fine pastry. Its pronounced minerality and vibrant acidity provide precision and balance.
