ALABASTER 2021

Alabaster is a small tribute that the Teso La Monja winery offers to the ancient Greek and Egyptian civilizations, which preserved their most precious elixirs and perfumes in alabaster vessels. This wine also belongs to that same category. The Tinta de Toro grapes, from very old, bush-trained vines, are destemmed one by one by hand and traditionally foot-trodden to extract a small amount of must, which ferments in small 1000-liter wooden vats. The result is a handcrafted wine, highly concentrated, full-bodied, and with great aging potential, capable of evolving—for the better—over the next 10 years.

TASTING NOTES

Appearance

A very intense, almost opaque, cherry-red color with a violet rim. High density and dense tears that suggest great concentration.

Nose

Ripe dark fruit (blackberry, plum, blueberry)

Subtle floral notes

Palate

Firm yet polished tannins

Excellent volume and density
