Alto de la Cruz is a red wine produced by Bodegas Alto Horizonte, the winemakers Aurelio García and Micaela Rubio's own project, together with Mikaela, their other winery in Cuenca.
You may already know the name Aurelio because he is the person in charge of the Valquejigoso winery project in the D.O. Vinos de Madrid.
At Alto Horizonte they take care of each plot and its authenticity. They make wines with Garnacha grapes from Avila, more than 80 years old, specifically in the Sierra de Gredos. Their main characteristic is the altitude at which the vines are grown - 1,150 metres - which brings freshness to the wine and the ripeness of the vines gives it a perfect balance.
A wine with a singular origin and vinification that delivers notes of red fruit, ripe fruit, spicy touches and wild grass.
