Ladoucette Baron de L is a white Sauvignon Blanc wine from AOC Pouilly-Fumé made by De Ladoucette.
The Counts of Lafond since the end of the 18th century have owned the largest and most famous vineyards of Pouilly-Fumé. Today, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, heir to this tradition, continues at the head of this house producing some of the best wines of the area.
The vineyards of Ladoucette Baron de L are located on clay soils. The wine is made exclusively from first-press musts. These, before fermenting, are racked by decanting to achieve a clean fermentation free of unpleasant odors. The wine ferments at a low temperature, about 14ºC, and ages on the lees for 8 to 10 months in glass tanks with a ceramic lining. Finally, it remains stored on its fine lees for a further 15 months before bottling.
Ladoucette Baron de L is considered one of the world's finest expressions of Sauvignon Blanc.
