María Remírez de Ganuza Reserva Especial 2016 is a high quality red wine produced by the renowned Spanish winery Bodegas Remírez de Ganuza, located in the Rioja region of Spain. This wine is considered a special reserve, which means that it has spent an extended period of aging in oak barrels and bottle before its release to the market, which gives it unique and special characteristics.
María Remírez de Ganuza Reserva Especial 2016 is made from selected Tempranillo and Graciano grapes grown in the winery's own vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully selecting the grapes at their optimum point of ripeness to obtain the highest quality.
Once in the winery, the grapes are fermented in small stainless steel tanks, using modern winemaking techniques that seek to preserve the maximum expression of the terroir and the characteristics of the grapes. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to French and American oak barrels, where it is aged for approximately 24 months.
During its aging, María Remírez de Ganuza Reserva Especial 2016 acquires complexity and elegance, developing intense and balanced aromas and flavors. On the nose, notes of ripe red and black fruits, spices, toast and balsamic notes can be appreciated. The palate is powerful, with soft, round tannins and a balanced acidity that brings freshness and length to the palate.
It is a full-bodied and structured wine, with a complex and elegant aromatic profile, making it an excellent choice to accompany red meat dishes, game and cured cheeses.
