MIRABRAS is a white wine with veil produced by Bodegas Barbadillo and is a wine from Tierra de Cádiz.
In 2014, Montserrat Molina decided to ferment the musts from the oldest vines of Santa Lucía in old sherry butts. From one of the old fermentations comes Mirabrás.
Everything was arranged to recover an old-fashioned winemaking process: sunshine, good oak, patience, control and chance in equal parts. The wine rested on fine lees for a few months, then it was stored in tocadedos and finally in stainless steel... until today.
A part of that elaboration is now in your hands. The result is forceful, unclassifiable, rare.... If you are looking for a caress, do it somewhere else.
A deep, expressive wine, with little known registers that take us from the memories of biological ageing, passing through pure albariza or old oak casks. An austere wine in which the cracked hands of an old racker can be glimpsed.
TASTING NOTES
Pale golden colour. Aromas of toasted corn and honey. Dry with good acidity, unctuous on the palate revealing flavours of yeast, bread and old wood.
