The Oremus Tokaji Aszú 2014 - 6 Puttonyos is a high quality dessert wine from the Tokaj wine region of Hungary. This wine is made using the traditional "aszú" technique, which involves the manual selection of grapes affected by noble rot, also known as botrytis cinerea. botrytis cinerea is a fungus that dehydrates grapes and concentrates sugars, acids and flavors inside, resulting in sweet, highly complex grapes. These aszú grapes are harvested and selected by hand, choosing only those that have reached optimum maturity and sugar concentration.
The name "6 Puttonyos" refers to the grading system used in Tokaj to determine the amount of aszú grapes added to the base wine. In this case, six "puttonyos" of aszú grapes are added per barrel of base wine. The greater the number of puttonyos, the greater the concentration and complexity of the resulting wine.
The 2014 Oremus Tokaji Aszú 2014 - 6 Puttonyos stands out for its elegance and balance between sweetness and acidity. It has a deep and bright golden color, with intense and seductive aromas of candied fruits, apricots, honey, citrus and exotic spices. The palate is rich and unctuous, with a well-integrated sweetness and vibrant acidity that provides freshness and balance. Flavors include notes of tropical fruits, honey, orange marmalade, caramel and hints of vanilla.
This wine is a perfect pairing for rich, savory desserts such as apple pie, crème brûlée, pecan pie or blue cheeses. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a pleasurable and sophisticated tasting experience.
