Located at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, Santenay was known in Gallo-Roman times for its thermal waters. The "Santinae aquae" (healing waters) spring gave the village its name.
"Les Charmes" is located in the southwest corner of the commune, near the hamlet of Santenay-le-Haut. Its name refers to the extensive presence of hornbeam trees that once grew here.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance
Deep cherry red color with ruby glints. Bright and clean, with good concentration and light tears that reveal its silky character.
Nose
Expressive and enveloping aromas. Notes of ripe red fruit (cherry, wild strawberry, currant) stand out, with subtle hints of plum and sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla). The base is earthy and slightly smoky, with hints of undergrowth and a floral touch (violet).
Palate
Smooth and round on the palate, with polished and well-integrated tannins. The wine displays a balanced structure, with good freshness and a juicy fruit core. Flavors of black cherry, raspberry, and soft spices, with a medium-long finish that leaves a lingering mineral and fruity aftertaste.
