About Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village
It would be a sin to go to Burgundy (in central-eastern France) and not taste a single one of its wines. To avoid this, there are usually various wine routes. Of these, the most famous is the Route des Grandes Vins - also known as the Champs-Élysées of Burgundy. This itinerary, where you can taste 24 of the 33 great Burgundy wines, begins in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the north of the Côte de Nuits. Right here, at the entrance to paradise, Albert Bichot makes Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village.
In this land, north of the Côte d’Or, there is only room for pinot noir. And Albert Bichot has decided that this area is part of the 105 hectares that he currently manages. If there is one thing that the A.O.C. is famous for, it is this route that is known for its 24th anniversary. Gevrey-Chambertin is known for its fine, elegant red wines with body and firmness. This is mainly due to its calcareous soils, rich in calcium, which are mixed with clays and marls. A festival of soils, where the mixture of materials abounds.
Totally biodynamic and respectful of the environment, Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village ferments in conical oak vats, thermoregulated, for 28 days. Shortly after, this wine will be aged between 14 and 16 months in French oak barrels (some of them new).
Albert Bichot is one of the great names in viticulture in France. And as it could not be otherwise, he had to be there, at the gates of paradise itself, waiting with a glass of Albert Bichot Gevrey-Chambertin Village.
