Within its Reserva Histórica, Marqués de Riscal has always had winemaker's wines, to which this XR belonged. In the style of the sherry foremen, the winemaker marked some of his barrels with a chalk with the word XR when he found some special characteristics. This XR was never marketed, but it was always a reference for the cellar master in a custom that lasted almost a century, from 1869 to 1964.

Deep cherry color.
Nose
Aromas of ripe fruit and notes of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper.
Palate
Fresh, with polished tannins and good structure. The finish is long, with subtle balsamic touches.
