PAGO DE CARRAOVEJAS CUESTA DE LAS LIEBRES 2020

Cuesta de las Liebres 2020 is a single vineyard red wine from the Ribera del Duero D.O., made from 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes grown on steep limestone slopes. Aged for a long time in French oak barrels, it reveals power and elegance: ripe black fruit, spices, minerality, firm tannins and a long, enveloping finish.

Tasting Note

Dark cherry colour with garnet-violet reflections; deep colour, dense tears that anticipate its structure.

Nose

Complex and profound — aromas of ripe black fruits (blackberry, plum), blackcurrant and dried apricots unfold. On top of this, balsamic notes of rosemary and thyme, cedar, liquorice, along with sweet spices such as cinnamon, clove and vanilla. There is also a limestone minerality that is very characteristic of the terroir.

Mouth

Powerful, well-structured. Broad, silky entry with ripe but firm tannins, giving a sensation of full body. Balanced acidity maintains freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of black fruit compote, notes of fine wood, soft toasted flavours and a long hint of chalk/limestone from the soil.
