Salanques is a red wine from the Priorat D.O., produced by the Mas Doix winery. The winery is located in the town of Poboleda (Tarragona), northeast of Priorat.
Salanques is a blend of Grenache (65%), Carignan (25%) and Syrah (10%). The grapes come from vineyards planted between 350 and 500m altitude in "costers de Licorella", slate slopes typical of Priorat.
The grape were harvested by hand and once in the winery the grapes went through a double sorting table. Subsequently, fermentation was carried out at a controlled temperature using the submerged cap system, i.e. keeping the solid matter of the grapes within the fermenting mass.
